The 2024 Wednesday Night Family Track Meets will begin Wednesday, June 5 and run every Wednesday evening until August 14. (No track on July 3rd due to the 4th of July holiday) Registration & Fee5:30pm - 6:00pm on-site, weeklyFee $1.00 per participant / per weekThe $1 registration fee entitles participants to compete in as many events as he or shedesires that evening. A season pass may be purchased for $8.00, per participant, the first or secondweek. Parents of competitors under 18 years of age must sign the waiver of liability form that accompanies every registration.  PLEASE REMEMBER YOUR PARTICIPANT NUMBER!  (Waivers only need to be filled out once unless participant number is forgotten)The meets begin at 6:00pmOrder of events & Age Limits1. 50 Meter- All ages2. 100 Meter- All ages3. 1 Mile – (8 minutes or faster only please)4. 200 Meter- All ages5. 800 Meter- All ages6. 400 Meter- All ages7. Relay 4x 100 (time permitting) – All agesFrom 6:15pm - 7:00pm (approx.): Softball Throw and Standing Broad Jump- Ages 4-13.(Age Groupings for these two events are 4&5, 6&7, 8&9, 10&11 and 12&13). Theseevents will occur depending on volunteer staffing.AwardsAll events, whenever practicable, are staged in age-segregated and often gender segregated heats. This system facilitates organization of the simplest and often fairestcompetition among the hundreds of competitors.Due to staffing and time constraints, only first place finish times are recorded for eachheat. Blue, red or yellow ribbons are awarded to the first three finishers in every runningheat as well as to the age division winners in the softball throw and standing broad jumpand ribbons are awarded to all members of winning relay teams.Inclement WeatherMeets may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Track is still on in drizzle or light rain.It will be cancelled for heavy rain and especially if there are thunderstorms.  A decision will be made by 4:00 PM. Check the Framingham Parks and Rec website:www.FraminghamRec.com for updates; cancellations will show as a notification banner by 4 PM.This being New England, weather can change quickly. On occasion, we will not cancel by4 PM only to cancel later at the track. One sighting of lightning or thunder and we aredone for the night; safety first.OfficialsVolunteers from the Greater Framingham Running Club staff all events. The FraminghamParks and Recreation Department serves as a series co-sponsor - without their supportwe would not be able to hold the meets.For more information, please call Arnie Pollinger, series co-director, at 508-517-5818.Basic Rules for Competitors and Spectators1. The primary goal is for all athletes to have fun while acquiring or perfecting theirrunning skills. Winning is not everything. Good sportsmanship is a must.2. All runners must run “unassisted”. Parents or guardians may accompany a toddlerdown the track, but the child must “run” on their own.3. For safety reasons and “track etiquette” only runners are allowed on the track andonly during the event which they are competing. Please stay off the field. Yourcooperation is needed to keep everyone off the field. No Dogs or bikes are allowedon the track or football field. Failure to adhere to these restrictions could result inthe cancellation of the Summer Track Meets.4. All runners are responsible for listening to the race officials and followinginstructions for each event.5. The safety of all runners is important. Please do not allow your children to competein events that are too long or difficult for them. Please note the 8-minute timerestriction for entering the one mile race. In the event of injury, a first aid kit isavailable at the registration table.6. All Race Officials are non-paid volunteers. The meets could not take place withouttheir assistance. ONE-DAY CLINICS - One-day clinics are designed for both Beginner and Intermediate skaters.  This condensed clinic will combine both skillsets into a fun-filled 3-hour clinic.SUMMER CLINICS - Beginner - designed for beginner skateboarders with little to no experience.  Concentrating on balance, turning, accelerating, stopping, transitions, dropping in, Ollies, and a variety of other skills.  Participants will develop confidence to apply these skills on their own.Intermediate - designed for skateboarders with some experience who are looking to push themselves to the next level.  This class will focus on tricks like flip tricks, grinds, manuals, and riding vert while helping participants develop confidence to apply them on their own.*** Summer Clinics are scheduled Monday - Thursday with Friday to be used as a rain date if needed.Proper safety equipment (helmet, knee and elbow pads, and wrist guards) and skateboards are mandatory.  Please make sure your skateboard is similar to the skateboard in the photo.  (+/- 31" x 8", wooden, full size skateboard - appropriate for ages 5+)Participants MUST keep safety equipment on at all times and wear athletic shoes.  Skateboard Programs will be held at the new Skateboard Park at Farm Pond (Dudley Road).Skateboard classes/clinics are co-ed unless otherwise specified.

Bring the entire family for a fun filled afternoon!  FOR FRAMINGHAM RESIDENTS ONLY!  Sport-ified brings together families, team mates, and competitors with an atmosphere of fun and the spirit of healthy competition.  This summer event is designed to nurture character growth through engaging family activities.  Sport-ified believes in igniting potential and building community.  Harnessing the power of sports and culture to mold our kids into leaders to overcome barriers and build and inclusive community of trailblazers.  This event will have a number of team and family friendly activities and competitions. Registration for Summer Programs will begin on April 1st at 9:00am.Join us for a day of Outdoor Adventures!  **NEW THIS YEAR**With the help of a grant from the Department of Environmental Protection Bureau of Water Resources, secured by the Framingham DPW, we are able to subsidize over 50% of the tuition of this program!!!Participants will enjoy a day of archery kayak/canoeing*, fishing, and map/compass reading!  The program provides a unique experience to teach participants the importance of local waters and how their actions can help preserve our natural resources.  Kayaks/canoe*, PFD's (personal flotation devices), fishing rods, live bait & tackle, maps, compasses, and archery equipment will be provided.Participants must bring a backpack with a change of clothing, lunch, snacks, and refillable water bottle.Please dress appropriately and wear water repellent/waterproof shoes. * due to size/weight requirements, 8 year olds can only use canoes.   Please note that refrigeration is not available.  Please label all belongings.** A MINIMUM OF 10 PARTICIPANTS ARE NEEDED TO RUN THIS CLASS **
