Introduction to Compass and Map Reading
Welcome to the Introduction to Compass and Map Reading! This class is designed for beginners who are new to navigation and wish to build a solid foundation in essential skills.  This class will cover topographic maps, landmarks, and symbols.  Through hands-on practice, students will gain the confidence needed to navigate through various terrains effectively, whether you're hiking, camping, or exploring new areas - this class is a great place to start!
Participants will keep their compass used in class!


Advanced Compass and Map Reading
In the Advanced Compass and Map Reading class, we dive deeper into sophisticated navigation techniques for seasoned adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts. This class focuses on advanced map interpretation, including the use of grid references, advanced contour analysis, and integrating various map types for complex navigation challenges. We will also explore advanced compass skills, such as triangulation, intersection, and route planning.  Emphasis is placed on problem-solving in challenging conditions to enhance your navigational precision. 
Participants will keep their compass and map scale/grid coordinate reader used in class!
